Distant Light Media is run by Cortney Martin. He does the interviews, the filming, the edit and the color grade.
Who you will work with
I am Cortney Martin. I run Distant Light Media out of Brandon and Valrico, and I am the person you talk to from the first call to the final file.
When you hire Distant Light Media, I sit down with you for the interview, film the day, cut the film and grade it.
Why the interview
Every film starts with a conversation with the person who runs the business. The reason they started is usually in there, and finding it in the edit is most of the work.
The work, the tools and the place get filmed around that conversation.
Background
I have a B.A. in Advertising from the University of West Florida and a background in audio and video production. I am working on a master’s in Social and Emerging Media at the University of Tampa, which is where UTampa Stories comes from.
The look of the films comes from magazine photojournalism of the 1960s and 70s.
