The job

Klever Klippers is a barbershop. The job was a set of barber portraits, one film per barber, so each chair has a video of its own.

Carl, 2:34, and Pike, 2:55. Each is built from a single interview, with the chairs and the cuts filmed around it.

How it was made

Before the shoot we write a question sheet for each interview. On the day, the interview comes first, then the work going on around it.

In the edit, the interview is transcribed and cut on paper before it touches a timeline. Once its through-line is locked, the footage of the work and the music are built around it, and the film is graded by hand in DaVinci Resolve.
